Job Description:

Under general supervision of the Director of Experiential and Simulation learning in the Grace Center for Innovation in Nursing Education, facilitates simulation based experiential learning for undergraduate and graduate nursing and health students and other functions related to an academic unit or department. These functions include but are not limited to facilitation of simulation or laboratory experiences and other functions that support the teaching-learning environment in the Grace Center, Health Futures Center and other locations where simulation is provided across Arizona State University.

Salary: $51,500 - $ 77,300, Depends on experience

 

Essential Duties:

Flexible schedule to potentially include nights, weekends, early mornings, and evenings.
Flexible to work at any Edson College location.
Works closely with unit and university administration to facilitate activities to ensure adherence with college and university policies, practices and regulations.
Participates in a variety of departmental meetings.
Collaborate with the administrator for experiential and simulation course scheduling.
Performs other duties as assigned to ensure continual efficient operations of the department to meet customer service needs: including work as a Simulation Technologist when needed.
Facilitates simulation/student learning experiences and experiential learning in collaboration with faculty.
Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
Regular use of immersive simulation technology including, but not limited to: manikins, electronic health records, extended reality (XR), augmented reality
(AR), virtual reality (VR), artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies.
 

Desired Qualifications:

Experience in teaching or assistant teaching in an academic educational setting.
Evidence of clinical experience or teaching experience in the areas of simulation, experiential, adult health, or specialty area.
Experience in a medical or Healthcare related field.
Experience in healthcare simulation.
Experience in using technology and a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrates knowledge in simulation through holding certification as Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE), Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) or plans to obtain it within 2 years of hire.
 

Working Environment:

Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled laboratory setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 - 50 pounds.
Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions.
Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals, and electric cart.
Regular use of immersive simulation technology including, but not limited to: manikins, electronic health records, extended reality (XR), augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies.
This position receives regular review of objectives by department administrators.
 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
