About the UVI Medical Simulation Center
Located on the Albert A. Sheen Campus in St. Croix, the UVI Medical Simulation Center (MSC) is the first and only facility of its kind in the U.S. Virgin Islands, offering 22,000 square feet of state-of-the-art training space. The MSC provides simulation-based education for healthcare professionals at all levels, using high-fidelity manikins, virtual reality systems, and immersive environments to enhance clinical skills, decision-making, and patient safety. The center includes inpatient and outpatient rooms, a surgical skills lab, an operating room, and interactive training spaces. MSC also serves as a hub for medical research, professional development, and regional collaboration, supporting initiatives in biomedical and robotic technologies.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Simulation Educator located on St. Croix, USVI. The Simulation Educator will be responsible for developing and executing lesson plans, providing educational instruction, and facilitating training sessions. Day-to-day tasks will include teaching and communicating with students and colleagues to deliver high-quality simulation-based education. Works collaboratively with UVI MSC leadership, faculty, clients, and staff to ensure evidence-based clinical standards and simulation best practices are reflected in all simulation-based educational curriculum and activities. Develops and implements simulation-based education to enhance patient safety and quality in healthcare. Reports to the Medical Simulation Center Executive Director.
Experience in lesson planning and education
Healthcare Simulation Educator certification (CHSE) from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH)
Ability to work effectively in an on-site role in St. Croix, USVI
3-5 years of experience in conducting medical and healthcare-related training sessions
Must be located in or relocate to St Croix, US Virgin Islands
Excellent communication and teaching skills
Certification as an AHA instructor
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Master’s degree in Education, Nursing, or a related field
3-5 years of experience with simulation-based education
