Position Summary:
The University of Kentucky, College of Nursing is seeking an Assistant Professor, Clinical Title Series (non-tenure track) position. This position is a 12-month appointment with an administrative appointment serving as the Clinical Simulation and Learning Center Director. We anticipate a start date of July 1, 2026, but no later than September 1, 2026.
This position, based in Lexington, KY, will serve as the Clinical Simulation and Learning Center Director for the College of Nursing. This position provides strategic and operational leadership for simulation-based education across all College of Nursing locations. This role oversees the design, implementation, and evaluation of human and non-human simulation, standardized patient, and mixed/virtual reality learning experiences to ensure alignment with program outcomes, accreditation standards, and institutional priorities. The Director collaborates closely with Associate Deans, faculty, and content experts to integrate simulation across undergraduate and graduate curricula while promoting innovation, consistency, and quality across sites.
Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in nursing or a related field and maintain an active, unencumbered Kentucky RN license. A minimum of two (2) years of full-time or equivalent experience employed as a BSN-prepared nurse in the last five (5) years is required. The Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) credential is required or must be obtained within two years of hire.
Qualified candidates will demonstrate experience in simulation or skills lab teaching (at least one year required; three years preferred) and expertise in simulation-based education, curriculum development, and technology-enhanced instruction. Knowledge of human and non-human simulation modalities, standardized patient programs, and emerging simulation technologies is essential.
